Wildfire is not an occasional event in California—it is a defining feature of our past, present, and future. The University of San Francisco Law Review invites submissions for its 2026 Symposium, Stages of Fire: Mitigation, Adaptation, and Rebuilding, which will explore the complex and evolving legal frameworks surrounding wildfire prevention, response, and recovery.
We seek contributions from legal scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and interdisciplinary experts who can illuminate the challenges and opportunities that fire presents for law, governance, and society.
Selected papers will be presented at the Symposium and considered for publication in a dedicated issue of the University of San Francisco Law Review.
Please direct submissions to fmkelleher@usfca.edu.
