On behalf of the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy (TJLP) members, we write to inform you of an upcoming symposium on “Academic Freedom in Education: Navigating New Standards and Challenges.” This year’s symposium will explore, among other topics, academic freedom, free speech in the classroom, and divisive concepts in education today.
The symposium will occur at The University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, Tennessee on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Submission Details:
The Journal's goal is to bring together academics, legal practitioners, government officials, and non-profit leaders to explore issues in the field of academic freedom. We invite you to consider joining us in Knoxville for this engaging discussion.
Please note: We are not seeking paper submissions for publication, but rather presentations for the symposium.
Those interested in presenting should submit a draft title and a brief one-page summary of the proposed topic to Addison Gross (Symposium Editor) and Katie Dereus (Managing Editor) at agross9@vols.utk.edu and kdereus@vols.utk.edu by Sunday, January 12 , 2025. Decisions regarding the submitted topics will be communicated by Sunday, January 19, 2025.
