The Alabama Civil Right and Civil Liberties Law Review is pleased to announce that we are searching for symposia topics. Every year, our journal presents symposia topics to our law school for an event that will be held the following spring (Spring 2025). This year, we invite proposals from legal scholars, practitioners, and experts across the nation. Our goal is to collect a diverse range of topics related to civil rights that have national relevance.

Proposals can be submitted using the linked Google form. Proposals should include the title of the symposium, an abstract (300-500 words) outlining the symposium's theme, objectives, and significance, a list of proposed speakers including their affiliations and a brief biography (150-200 words each), and a detailed agenda or structure of the symposium, including proposed topics and format (e.g., panel discussions, roundtables, workshops).

Proposals will be evaluated based on the relevance and timeliness of the topic, originality and scholarly contribution, diversity of perspectives and interdisciplinary approach, and the potential to engage the audience and stimulate discussion. Please submit your proposal by August 2, 2024. Proposals will be reviewed by the journal managing board, and notifications of acceptance will be sent by September.

For any inquiries or further information, please contact our Editor-in-Chief, Tyger Quarles. His email is tyger.quarles@law.ua.edu. We look forward to your innovative and engaging contributions to civil rights scholarship.

Thank you in advance,
The Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Managing Board
